The availability of a variety of features within a single product series,
such as system processors, video controllers, etc., have resulted in the need for
different ROMs. The following information will help you correctly identify which ROM your
system is running, so that you can select the correct ROMPaq software to upgrade your
system successfully.
Identify the System ROM Family and Version for the server using any of the following methods.
Online Methods
- The survey utility can be used to obtain the ROM family and date information.
The survey utility is available for Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, and Linux.
- From the HP Systems Insight Manager console, select the
Configuration Icon. The ROM Family (for example, P41) and the date (for example,
10/21/1998) are displayed.
- If the server has an Integrated Management Display,
select SYSTEM INFO from the Main Menu. The ROM Family (for example, P41) and the date
(for example, 10/21/1998) are presented as follows:

Offline Methods
Once you have identified the HP Server name
and ROM Family, when more than one may exist, select the appropriate System ROMPaq
for your server.
